Dusty E. Gross is an attorney at Wisconsin First Responder Lawyers, a division of MacGillis Law Group, LLC, where she focuses on representing police and fire unions in labor and employment-related matters.
A graduate of Marquette University Law School, Dusty served as the Managing Editor of the Marquette Benefits and Social Welfare Law Review, President of the Health Law Society, and 2L Class Representative of First Generation Professionals. She was honored with the Middleman Scholarship, the Thomas More Scholarship, and the Shirley Abrahamson Scholarship during her studies. Dusty’s dedication to public service was recognized with her induction into the Pro Bono Honors Society for completing over 100 hours of volunteer work.
During law school, Dusty gained valuable experience as a law clerk for a national motor manufacturing corporation and a boutique law firm specializing in civil litigation and employment law. She also interned for the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Risk Management Department, the Presiding Judge of the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, and the Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
Before law school, Dusty worked as a legal assistant and paralegal across various practice areas. She holds an associate’s degree in paralegal studies from Fox Valley Technical College and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she graduated with honors.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Dusty enjoys exploring downtown Milwaukee with her partner, Justin, and their dogs, Charlee Anne and Laycee Anne. She is passionate about cycling, spending time in Northern Wisconsin, recreational golf, and creating online content to support first-generation law students—an initiative inspired by her own journey as a first-generation college and law student.
